Growing Hope, One Tree at a Time

Our team had the privilege of joining students from Government Day Secondary School Njoboliyo, Yola South, in a powerful step towards climate resilience.

After an advocacy visit birthed the induction of their Climate Change Club and a series of classes on Climate Change and Climate Resilience practices, Today, these young champions planted trees within their school grounds — each one lovingly named after its planter as a living symbol of commitment to a greener future. The name-giving is more than a gesture; it’s a spark — a way to inspire action and deepen the sense of personal responsibility for each tree’s growth.

We chose to begin this initiative during the summer so that watering would be easier to manage, giving these seedlings the best possible start in life.

These trees are more than plants; they are promises. Promises to care for our environment, to stand against climate change, and to protect the world for generations to come. By taking ownership of each seedling, the students are ensuring that the journey of growth continues — for both the trees and themselves.

Climate action starts with small, deliberate steps. Today, it began with a seedling. Tomorrow, it will grow into shade, cleaner air, and a stronger community.

We celebrate these young leaders for showing us that when we nurture the earth, we nurture our future.

🌍 You can be part of this, too. Whether by planting a tree, joining a climate club, or sharing this story, your actions help grow a more resilient planet. Let’s keep planting hope together.
