Brook Initiative, in partnership with the Yola Fish Hub, brought together key stakeholders from the Adamawa State government, Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Adamawa State University, representatives of INGOs, NGOs, and CSOs.
The event was chaired by Mr Julius Mbidomti, who is a Futurist, Venture Capital Analyst, Startup Advisor, Farmer and Climate Change Enthusiast.
We had a compelling keynote address by Willy Fleuren, a renowned Dutch aquaculture specialist with over 35 years of experience across Africa integrated land and water management, and climate resilient agriculture.
This was followed by a dynamic panel discussion. The keynote and panel discussions sparked meaningful conversations around integrated land and water management, and climate resilient agriculture, providing valuable insights on:
Best practices in fish farming and aquaculture
Integrating tree planting for sustainable ecosystems
Utilizing water waste as manure for climate-resilient farming
At Brook Initiative, we’re passionate about climate action and sustainable livelihoods. This launch marks a significant step towards promoting eco-friendly practices and empowering communities.
We’re thrilled about the future prospects of the Yola Fish Hub and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the environment and local communities.
